Ceremony on 28 September 2019 at The Brewery, London, EC1Y 4SD

We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Nursery World Equipment & Resources Awards, which build on our existing equipment and resources categories and incorporate the prestigious Practical Pre-School Awards.

These awards aim to reward excellence in product design, development and suitability across a wide range of categories in the early years sector. The awards are now open for entries, with a closing date of 13th May 2019.

Due to the established history of both the Nursery World and Practical Pre-School Awards, the scrupulous and independent nature of the testing and scoring, and the wide range of coverage that we provide for all winning resources, this is the definitive awards scheme for companies who specialise in the early years, childcare and pre-school markets. Enter today to be part of the 2019 awards and make the most of being recognised for the excellence of your products.

Products awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze will announced in a special roll-call at the Nursery World Awards and featured in a pull-out section of our Awards magazine, as well as receiving a logo that can be used to highlight their achievement on marketing and publicity materials.

How are the entries tested?
Every product entered into the awards is tested in two separate settings. Testers are usually practitioners or teachers and use the products with the children in their care to assess them as thoroughly, realistically and scrupulously as possible.

How are the entries scored?
All testers are provided with a form so that all products are assessed fairly against consistent criteria. Testers provide marks on elements such as ease of use, clarity of instructions, fulfilment of intended purpose, value for money, originality, appeal at the start and end of the trial, safety, durability and ability to be recommended.

Each product is then given an overall score and the results are determined as follows:

90% or more – Gold
80% - 89% - Silver
65% - 79% - Bronze

How do you promote the awards results?
Nursery World publishes a special Awards magazine, which will include a dedicated section on all of the winning products achieving Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Awards magazine is then distributed with Nursery World magazine, free, to our readers in October, and as a digital edition. Information about the winners will also be available all year round on our website to offer as much visibility in the early years sector as possible for the successful products.
